Ping G5 12 Degree Driver For Mac
I purchased the G5 Graphite 12 degree loft off set driver brand new from Golfbidder, without doubt it is the best club in my bag,and I took to it very quickly. It adds at least 25 yards to my drive and 9 times out of ten in goes in a straight line too which is a bonus. PING G5 9 DEGREE DRIVER STIFF FLEX PROLAUNCH BLUE GRAPHITE 0651150. $99.95 $54.99. Ping’s G2 was our favourite 2005 driver. It has been superseded by the impressive Ping G5. However, we feel Ping has not quite advanced at the same pace as other brands. No need to worry if you’ve already bought the Ping G5 – this is as solid as ever, just with subtle updates. As the joint longest hitting driver in our test you have to say it is powerful and forgiving, and the half-moon alignment aid is great. 2007 Review We know what you’re saying: “How can a club priced £239 win our award for the Best Driver for £199. Ping’s recommended retail price for this club is £239, but in reality most golf shops are selling it for £199.
That’s why we’ve included the Ping G5 in this category. If £200 is the most you want to spend on a driver, you really do have some great clubs to choose from – but we think this is the pick of them. It is solid, stable and the titanium head makes the comforting tinking sound we’ve grown to love.
The beefy head builds confidence, with a half-moon alignment aid that really helps to concentrate your focus on the ball. Our pro’s average carry distance of 301 yards means the G5 more than keeps up with its more expensive peers. It’s worth remembering the head is available in offset and high launch models as well.
Internal weighting distribution that repositions the centre of gravity for low spin rates and greater distance. Contact: 24 Web.
5 out of 5 Easy to hit straight 28 December 2008 By cbland15 Use the 12 degree G5 which has cured my slice. Excellent buy and great confidence off the tee.
What better could there be. 5 out of 5 So easy even I can use it! 17 October 2007 By jimmerA I've just started playing after a five year break and have never been able to hit a driver.ever. The club pro recommended I try this one out with 13.5 degree loft to see how I got on as he reckoned I might be ok with this one.
I couldnt do a thing wrong with it, all drives except one were long and straight.there was no way I could leave the course without buying it. If I can use this club and get these results, then anyone can!. 5 out of 5 Personal Fav 11 September 2007 By George Hunter I absolutely love the G5. It is the most accurate club I have hit, relatively long, looks great and inspires confidence. It is reasonably priced (comapared to some of it's friends) and I loved it the moment I started hitting it. I had just grown into mens clubs and decided to try out a few drivers. I went down to my local Pro Shop and picked a few out including the G5 (12 degree), a Talormade R7 draw (13 and 10.5 degree and a Calaway Big Bertha.
After hitting a huge number of balls I had narrowed it down to the G5 and the 13 degree R7. In the end I plodded for the G5 and have never regretted my decision.
I would recommend it to most people but try it out first. Just because it works for one person doesn't mean it will work for us all. 5 out of 5 G5 HEAVEN 23 August 2007 By Neil Vernon just bought one after trying several different options at a Ping demo day. Please talk to their rep, and they will suggest a suitable model ( shaft, loft, etc). I bought a 10.5 degree with a soft tip regular shaft, and I love it to bits.
So easy to hit it straight, I can't belive it!!!. 5 out of 5 Goes a mile!! 20 August 2007 By Jonathan Allen Just added this to my bag and for a small guy/average handicapper I have been hitting it past the 300 yard mark on many occasions!. 5 out of 5 Ping G5 - 10.5 - regular Graffaloy shaft 28 June 2007 By Icyberjunkie Not my comments but my playing buddies 'Keep at it because I've never seen you hit it so straight!' I bought this driver to try and solve my fade and it has - completely.
A great looking and sounding driver and once used to the size of the head easy to use. Forget the really tall tee's though.
I found I skied it left on a silver graduated tee so now tee down. Try it and you'll buy it. Definately worth the money. Oh, and I gained about 20 yards too. 5 out of 5 ping g5 driver 12 degree 01 June 2007 By moulty what a grest driver i have played with this driver for about 18 months and i can hit this driver 300 yards with carry, its forgiving and a easy club to hit, i would not swap this driver for any other!. 5 out of 5 ping g5 driver 01 June 2007 By stevesteviey Bought one of these about a year ago and is probably the best £189 I have ever spent on golf gear. 5 out of 5 Carlsberg dont do drivers, but if they did.
11 March 2007 By Anonymous Carlsberg dont do drivers, but if they did. 5 out of 5 Still using the G5, still hitting it long 11 March 2007 By Anonymous Does EXACTLY what it says on the tin!!.
5 out of 5 Ping G5 driver 02 March 2007 By Anonymous I've switched to this driver in the autumn after having a 440sz cobra for a couple of years and the 370 unlimited before that. Compared to the cobra it's easier to use and more forgiving and sits nicely behind the ball for a 460cc club. It also feels nice off the face and you can really tell when you hit one out of the middle. I'm told it'll come into it's own once the better weather gets here and the ball starts to roll, so it'll be interesting to see if this is correct. There's loads of shaft and loft options, so make sure you get the one which suits you best. As testiment to this club I've since been out and bought the 3 & 5 woods to match. If you shop around and haggle you can get them at a good price now the far more expensive raptures are out there (I tried the rapture 14 degree 3 wood and in my opinion it wasn't worth the extra £100) I paid £170 for the driver, which for a premium club was fantastic value.
5 out of 5 Out of this World 25 February 2007 By Anonymous I had never being able to use my driver and always ended on the tee with a 3 iron. Decided it was time to change things. Splashed out and after test driving a lot of drivers settled for the G5 just 6 weeks ago (actually ended up with the complete G5 set). It was by far the most comfortable driver I had tried, the most forgiving with the sweetest of sweet spots. Did the whole custom fit thing, essential by the way. When you strike the ball you hardly know you’ve connected with it and as for the sweet PING sound, Pure Class. Slight fade and lots of distance is what I get.
Bring on the par 5’s make them feel like a long par 4. Hole 10, par 4, at Hoebridge, drive the green!!!!
Always been a mid 90’s player, now, in just 6 weeks, a mid to low 80’s. Ping has changed my game and my enjoyment for it, forever. I’ll never look back. 5 out of 5 Pure Class 19 February 2007 By Anonymous I had been using the MP001 400cc driver from mizuno for years which is a very reliable driver, but this is something else!! I realise the clubhead would be bigger hence more distance, but i did not realise how easy this club would be to use!!!
I have the 10.5 degree stiff shaft driver and it goes miles!!!!!! Thanks to the length of the tee i no longer have to rely on the rescue woods (I hate those things) to get me close to have a go at the par 5's - i can now reach most of them with an iron!!! The sound, the feel the looks of this club are magnificant and the confidence i feel when addressing my ball is inspiring!! Roll on the weekend so i can crunch another drive. 5 out of 5 What a club!
15 February 2007 By Anonymous I had been playing a Ping Si3 380 for about 3 years, until i tested out the G5 at the start of the season. It is an amazing club, long, straight, forgiving, looks good- all you could ask for! Definitely worth your money.
5 out of 5 The Ferrari of Premium Drivers! 11 February 2007 By Anonymous An excellent club. I have mine around 6 months and ive never looked back. Will knock the socks off any of the other premium drivers on the market. Definitely worth the buy!. 5 out of 5 The Ferrari of Premium Drivers! 11 February 2007 By Anonymous An excellent club.

5 out of 5 At Last 08 February 2007 By Anonymous I had to rate this as 5 Star as I have never been able to hit a driver in my life. I bought the G5 that suited my swing and Hey Presto. Four strokes off my first round. Cant wait till we get some decent weather for some more run on the ball. 1 out of 5 BEST DRIVER EVER!!
02 February 2007 By Anonymous I just got one of these after replacing my old driver with my 3 wood because litrally I couldnt keep it on the fairway but I tried the G5 and it was great I found it much more forgiving than other drivers I tested, also I tried my friends r7 460 after and hit the G5 over 10 yards further. 5 out of 5 Amazing 01 February 2007 By Anonymous I just got one of these drivers after using a Taylormade r7 425 for over a year and have added 10 yards and consistency to my drivers. Ping G5 Offset Driver
My son is 12 early in the new year and has asked for a new driver for Christmas. He is currently playing a set of Cobra ladies irons and they are great.
His Driver is a junior driver by meridian. He is not a massive hitter compared to a couple of his mates, but he can carry his current driver 140 - 150 I was looking for a high loft driver with a ladies shaft that is a) not pink or similar feminine colours and b) reasonably priced. One that has caught my eye is the Ping G2 in 15.5. with a Ladies flex shaft. I have missed a couple of these on ebay, one went for a daft price and the other one I just missed as I was away when the auction ended. Am I right in thinking that the more loft the better for his age. There seem to be a few ladies drivers around in 12 and 13 degree, but I am not sure these will provide enough loft.
Any advice appreciated. Cheers Steve.
Spot on Taz, peer pressure is a big thing at his age hence the comment about nothing Pink. I think anything from the big OEMs would solve the peer pressure problem. He plays with the junior section at my club and the group he is with are all around 14/15 and use mens clubs. Although he has outgrown his current driver I dont think he is ready for a mens driver.
Ping G5 Release Year
I use a Ping driver and he says thats what he wants. I did consider the G10 13.5 Soft Reg but at stock length it is too long so would need cutting down. I just thought the G2 400cc 15.5 ticked all the right boxes.Cheers. Fitting for loft should be done on the basis of launch angle. But you'd need to go get fitted on a launch monitor. Too much loft can be dealt with by simply teeing the ball lower and more centre of stance.
But you still have too much back-spin and that robs you of distance - which is all important!I fitted my son into a Nike Sumo 13° from age 9. Simply cut the shaft.
Then lengthened (shaft insert) + one shaft change (stiffer) as he grew. That lasted him through 3 years.I would recommend one of the Nike Dymo in HL (13° in mens, 14° in ladies). Super cheap at the moment, Nike are super-cool for youngsters, and if you get the Str8-Fit version, double-cool. Good stock shaft too.
