What is the EXACT make and model of the reader? Is it Digital Concepts CR-75 USB 51-in-1 Card Reader/Writer (if not, which one)? Where if anywhere did you get drivers, firmware, and/or software for this devicce or did you just plug it in and expect it to work with nothing else required (which may indeed be the case but I suspect not - I'd just like to know if you did anything at all to make it more compatible with the system). Where did you get these files and where is technical support (a web site would help - is it Sakar?) If so, check out the following site. You'll notice that it does not include Vista as a compatible OS. Yes, I know it's working find on the other Vista machine and it even works partially on this one - but it still may have some issues.'

In any event, they know the product better than we do and since you're 'installing' it as plug-and-play, then the issue isn't Vista but the device and/or the drivers, firmware, and/or software required for the device (even though that wan't needed in the 32-bit Vista computer).
